Green Store

The ASSU Green Store is a not-for-profit online store which sells eco-friendly products to Stanford students at incredibly affordable prices. Green Store offers free delivery straight to your on-campus residence. Among the products they offer recyclable #1 plastic cups (same size as typical red party cups but able to be recycled with bottles and cans), eco-friendly Ecos liquid laundry detergent, smart power strips, reusable and portable 3-piece utensil sets. They even offer compostable eating ware at individual or bulk rates and once-used paper so you don’t have to feel guilty printing hundreds of flyers with a side that won’t be reused!

Green Events Consulting

Green Events Consluting (GEC) aims to promote sustainable practices on campus and to encourage VSOs (voluntary student organizations, or student groups) to make their events as green as possible. The objective is to not only tangibly increase the number of campus events that are executed in an environmentally sustainable manner, but also to actively engage a diverse array of student organizations in the decision-making process, thereby creating an informed base of active students who understand the complexities of "sustainability in practice" and can readily utilize that knowlege. This program will recruit VSOs interested in hosting green events and will assign each VSO a team of Green Event Consultants, who will give the VSO step-by-step guidance through the event-planning process.

Union Underground Free Store

Union Underground (UU) grew out of several needs on campus: the vast amount of reusables discarded by students annually, the lack of affordable shopping options nearby, and the absence of a consistent creative space for students on campus.  Union Underground addresses these needs with a free store where members of the Stanford community can give and/or grab stuff for free during store hours, and a new student art gallery, which is always available for viewing and will evolve into part of the Your Art Here program on campus.  UU seeks to facilitate the free exchange of items and ideas within the Stanford Community as a means of fostering a culture rooted in sustainability, creativity, accessibility, and collaboration.
