Building Sustainable Service Initiatives
The Student Services Division (SSD) is a branch of Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU). We create and oversee various service initiatives, from community engagement to health and wellness. Such projects focus on giving back to Stanford University's students, faculty, and community.
Our History
SSD grew out of a need for a student government branch to oversee ASSU service projects. Before SSD, not-for-profit projects like our listed initiatives lacked stable frameworks to help them transition from year to year. Now, thanks to a collaborative effort by a range of ASSU branches and groups, SSD exists to build and run sustainable ASSU initiatives that serve the greater Stanford community.
Mission Statement
The ASSU Student Services Division oversees and organizes services for students, in addition to providing a vehicle for students to engage in service that benefit and better the Stanford community. SSD is responsible for executing the operations of not-for-profit services provided by the ASSU.
